Aldrich University is a group project created with Travis Wierman and Jacob Basye.
In 1864, at age 36, under Rear Admiral David G. Farragut, Captain Aldrich G. Swanson fought at the battle of Mobile Bay for the Union Navy. As Farragut and his fleet rushed into the bay, only one of his ironclad monitors was struck by a mine. Captain Swanson's vessel was the closest when it sank. Without hesitation, Swanson dove overboard and began dragging injured soldiers out of the depths to the safety of his ship. His crew said he cut through the water at incredible speeds, only capable of marine animals. He was explicitly referred to as a narwhal. Aldrich would continue to serve in the United States Navy, eventually earning the rank of Vice Admiral. Aldrich University aims to carry on the legacy of its founder by displaying bravery in the face of danger and changing the world without hesitation.
